Barney Frank Stimulates Deval Patrick With YOUR Money

October 23, 2010-Congressman Barney Frank and Governor Deval Patrick cordially invite you to Pork-a-Palooza this Monday October 25th, 11 am at the Middleboro Town Hall (10 Nickerson Ave, Middleboro, MA).  Conveniently eight days before one of the most historic elections in modern day America, Barney Frank, in all his pomp and circumstance, will deliver with grandeur a $2M stimulus check to Gov. Deval Patrick for more "shovel ready" jobs...

From SouthCoastToday.com:

Members of the administration, including Lt. Gov. Tim Murray, have been no strangers to Middleboro this year. Our legislative delegation has made sure that the folks in the corner office on Beacon Hill are fully aware of this area's traffic nightmares, and last month, the efforts paid off as Mr. Murray and other state officials turned up to celebrate the groundbreaking for the new Compass Medical Center in Middleborough Park at 495, bringing a nice $1.9 million check as their gift. The money will pay for a traffic signal and the first leg of the "ring road" that will eventually connect the industrial parks off Rte. 18 to the Rte. 44/I-495 highway system.

Meanwhile, state legislators and officials had been talking to Barney Frank about getting some federal money to move the reconfiguration of the rotary off the state Department of Transportation's drawing board. By all accounts those efforts have resulted in the announcement that will be made on Monday.

For us, this is par for the course.  Barney Frank's latest mailer (sent to PiggyBankExplodingindependent voters) trumpets Frank's ability to bring home pork in such a grandiose fashion that we're sure Jack Murtha is blushing from the hereafter.  Not much else can be expected from entrenched Massachusetts democrats this year.  Since the 2008 elections, any legislative "accomplishments" they try to shine a light on will only serve to fuel their opposition.

Even here, in "blue" Massachusetts. the promise of Federal pork has lost its luster.  Last week, President Obama reluctantly told the New York Times, "there's no such thing as shovel-ready projects."  As pointed out by The Other McCain: "In 2005, Massachusetts got 82 cents in federal spending for every dollar in federal taxes."

Another interesting aspect is that when candidates hold joint-events like this during an election cycle (especially eight days out), it's more often than not a strong candidate helping to support a weaker one.  In this case, which is which?  Our money is on Barney Frank needing the help.  Frank has been playing on the defensive for weeks and is actively being out-fundraised by Sean Bielat on a daily basis, so much so that he actually had to loan his own campaign $200,000.

Bye bye Barney.

We kindly ask all our readers to support Sean Bielat.  Here in Massachusetts we're just as tired of Barney Frank as you are and we're tired of him campaiging on giving us YOUR money.
