Your Last Chance to Kill the Healthcare Bill, In 3 Easy Steps.

*Pardon our appearance while our site is still under construction*

Time is of the essence, so I'll be brief.  Everyone is scared that, with the passing of the Senate healthcare bill, a government takeover of 1/6th of the American economy is an inevitability and that all hope is lost.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  We still have one chance to beat this bill.  Right now, the House and the Senate have to reconcile the drastically different, yet equally formidable, bills. The reconciled bill has to be voted on again by the House, and then the Senate, before it can be sent to Obama to be signed into law.  This bill barely passed the House (220-215) then passed the Senate (with the help of some "Chicago-style politics") with the bare minimum number of votes (60-40).

What you're not being told by the media is that there is a special Senate election here in Massachusetts on January 19th. If we can work together to stall the legislative process and rally behind the Republican running in Massachusetts, we can steal Harry Reid's 60th vote from him and KILL THIS BILL! All you have to lose in this election is your healthcare and a few trillion dollars of debt that will be passed on to your children and grandchildren.

Step #1 Thank a Dem!  (To Buy Some Time!)

In case you haven't been paying attention, the Healthcare Bill stalled (and almost died) on the House floor for two reasons: a coalition of Pro-Life Democrats united against the inclusion of government funding for "elective" abortions, and the hard left in Congress that refused to pass any bill that doesn't contain a "public option".  It doesn't matter if you're pro-life or not, or in favor of or against a public option. (I'm sure if you're taking the time to read this you're against a public option).

Now, time is key here; we don't have any, and we need more.  This is where you come in. Make contact with both of these congressmen and thank them for their stance on the issues.  In the case of Stupak, mention that you're "reaching across the aisle" to support him.

If you want to kill this Bill, this is an opportunity to throw a monkey wrench into the administration's plans.  While trying to pit two congressmen from the same party against each other could be considered "dirty politics", I prefer to think of this as "facilitating a rigorous debate on the house floor."

Like I said though, time is of the essence so send a few emails, make a few calls, and then move on.  YOUR time can better serve our cause in other ways!

"I don't think the party leadership expected this.  They really did not think we would make such a big issue out of it. And they were wrong . . . . We are going to hold firm and make sure the Stupak-Pitts language stays when this legislation comes back to us. We will not vote for this bill if that language is not there . . . . We'll have a conversation if it comes back that way. Not a negotiation; a conversation."

"It's time that we draw the line on this weak bill and ask the Senate to go back to the drawing board," she said. "The American people deserve at least that."

"Rep. Louise Slaughter (D-N.Y.), the chairwoman of the House Rules Committee and co-chairwoman of the Congressional Pro-Choice Caucus, said that the Senate's bill is so flawed that it's unlikely to be resolved in conference with the bill to have passed the House."

Step #2 MA State Senator Scott Brown.

Here's the fastest crash course in MA politics you'll ever receive:

Ted Kennedy dies after serving as our Senator for 47 years.  In order to give the administration a filibuster-proof majority in the Senate, Obama's long time friend and Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick had "emergency" legislation drafted to change MA law so he could appoint former DNC national chairman Paul Kirk to Kennedy's seat until a special election could be held.

That special election will be held on

JANUARY 19th

People have been speculating as to why the brown Senate and House are moving at breakneck speed to get this Bill passed.  The truth is that it's not for the sake of implementing new taxes in the 2010 calendar year, or to keep people from finding out what's in the Bill.  Rather, it's because Pelosi, Reid, and Obama are terrified that Massachusetts may steal their 60th vote in the Senate by electing their first Republican Senator since 1947.

Now make your jokes about Massachusetts Republicans.  Living in Boston I probably know more than you do anyway.  I'm not here to sing the praises of Scott Brown.  He's got his own people for that.  I'm here to tell you that I know for a fact that he'll stand his ground and vote against this bill.  If you want to keep Nancy Pelosi from standing between you and your doctor, it's time to jump on the Scott Brown bandwagon.

If he loses the special election, you'll get our current Attorney General Martha Coakley as the new junior Senator from Massachusetts.  She's a guaranteed rubber stamp for any Democrat bill that comes down the line.  I could go on about just how left she is, but I'll let this quote prove my point for me:

coakley2 "Martha Coakley will go to Washington to fight every  day to create good jobs withgood benefits and to get health reform with a strong public option. You can trust her to get results in the Senate just as she has as your Attorney General."

-Former President Bill Clinton, in robo-calls sent to more than 500,000 Massachusetts voters shortly before the
 primary. Dec. 7, 2009

Aside from the Clintons, Coakley enjoys receiving funding from:
 SEIU
 IBEW
 and Planned Parenthood.

NOW THIS IS WHERE YOU CAN REALLY HELP!

Out of state support is pouring in for Martha Coakley,  so with your help we can level the playing field!

There are two things you can do to help assure a Brown victory on January 19th.

The first: MONEY.  Yes it's after the holidays, yes we're in a recession, and yes everyone is hurting.  That being said, imagine what your personal cost is going to be if this healthcare monstrosity is passed.  Every dollar contributed to the Brown Campaign will make a difference and if it saves you tens of thousands of dollars you wont have to pay over your lifetime for government insurance as well as a few trillion dollars tagged onto the national debt, I'd say that's one hell of a return on your investment!  You can contribute as little as $5 to fight the advancement of socialized medicine!

Now if you're interested in taking an even more active roll in the campaign from the comfort of your own home, wherever you live, how about making some calls to Massachusetts residents on Brown's behalf?  Calling from home is simple and only takes a few minutes to set yourself set up on the site. Because of the partisan press both locally and here in MA, getting the word out about Brown is imperative.

I know there are plenty of naysayers out there that don't think Massachusetts will ever elect a Republican Senator.  Normally I might be inclined to agree with you, but don't think for a second that the outrage and buyer's remorse that is sweeping the entire nation stops at our state line.  Martha Coakley is only popular in far left circles.  We have a Democrat Governor that has driven our state's economy into the ground and of course we have RomneyCare here in MA that puts our health insurance rates at the highest in the nation.  Believe me when I say people up here don't want the federal Healthcare Bill to pass any more than you do!

Step #3 GET THE WORD OUT!

Share this article with your friends online.
Share Scott Brown's website with your friends.
Ask your friends to donate their time and whatever money they can spare.
Let everyone you know who fears a government takeover of their healthcare that there is still a chance!

Angel and I witnessed 40,000+ people show up in Washington on less then a week's notice to protest this horrid piece of legislation, and we need to get the word to all those people that there is one last way that they can help to...

KILL THIS BILL!
